Paul Gilbert instructional video
Hi all,
Revisited Paul Gilbert's instructional video on Google Video. For those uninitiated, he's the man behind Mr Big's awesome guitar work. His claim to fame was in playing very fast & furious stuff in Racer X. Somebody told me a long time ago that he held the world record for the most number of pick in a second! Think the figure quoted was 16 picks/sec. That's really fast!!! Now don't quote me on that. I ain't gonna verify that statement. However, watching the video below might justtify abit of that claim...
I never really understood what's the big deal about him in the past. Met so many ppl who has him as their favourite guitarist. I think I'm beginning to appreciate him better after watching this video. Reason being that he doesn't take himself too seriously. He's not concerned about looking cool or out of this world. Just a regular dude who's good at what he's doing and might even make a joke out of it once in awhile. Not to mention that he knows exactly what's in his playing so he's able to teach out what he's able to play in a clear manner.
There are alot of video of him in Google video. I respect that too coz it means that he's not overly protective of his materials. The saddest for a musician is to kick away potential fans just because somebody told you that it's bad to give away things freely!
